Let me try to share what can be to building a successful home based business.

First, understand that those of you that comprehend this are kind of like pioneers, you will lead others by blazing a trail with our home based business team. That takes more courage than average to building a successful residual income. During the past 7 plus years, many businesses have been built online. Massive e-mail campaigns, auto-responders etc. We have all seen the hype etc. Those days are crashing and burning all around us. This is not what I am talking about.

Imagine a meeting being held in your town with 10,000 success minded, many in network marketing, people and everyone are coming with a billboard on their back that shows their bio. Would you like to attend and meet people at that meeting? If not, hello. Now imagine the meeting has 100,000 plus, because that’s coming!!

That’s exactly what you have at sites like the My Space and Facebook. Now, for whatever reasons, most people are still not accomplishing their objectives in our industry in terms of building a long term residual income with their home based business. One of the major reasons is a lack of communication and proper training. I have already seen many people here at places like My Space change companies etc. Why not? If they don’t see some success for their efforts, why wouldn’t they continue banging their head against the wall to try and build their freedom residual income? Distributors no longer have to mail newsletters and phone people everyday to ensure contact and information flow. Also, one doesn’t have to tour like a rock star to do trainings. In 1997, my good friend Cameron Howard spent 50K touring. Think about it.

So how does this affect you and help you make a residual income online? Well anyone reading this is connected and plugged in. (Communication and training). You are among millions at my space and among many more millions on the internet. Most success minded people are online today, most Network Marketers too if they want to build a successful home based business.

If we focus on getting on the phone with 1 quality person everyday, like Cameron and I do on a weekly basis for 50 weeks a year, we will have well over 250 new friends with a success mindset, most of whom already believe in Network marketing and want to develop a long term residual income.

Ponder that for a moment. Think about the significance of 250 new friends that know and respect you. For example, my friend Cameron spoke to Kathy. She is very busy with several wonderful projects in her home based business Kathy was ‘burned out’ of network marketing, swearing never again - sound familiar? However, as she uses essential oils with her clients she recently joined Young Living so she could purchase quality oils for less. If Kathy was going to build a home based business it would be with YL.

Now, hypothetically here, if for some reason YL didn’t live up to what Kathy was looking for or something changed in the company, doesn’t it stand to reason that Kathy would at least examine our company and home based business team. Of course she would! I’m not saying it would be the right one for her or that she would join us based upon one conversation, I’m only saying that we would be one that she would look at.

Now multiply that scenario by 250. Then add another 250 as a solid residual income takes time. 500 people that I have spoken with over the phone, have seen my bio and read a few of my articles. Of those 500 people, how many will be looking to be more successful and willing to look at another opportunity? By focusing on meeting one person a day and adding value for 24 months I would have to be pretty poor at what I do to only personally recruit 25. Anybody who personally recruits 25 into our program and plugs them into our support system and team calls etc will earn a wonderful income, enough to work from home on. Anybody can build their own home based business this way, from any company.

Talk to 1 quality person each day. Build your list of real friends, add value in every conversation by BEing a friend. BE a blessing and BE blessed. Every morning when you wake up, get excited about BEing a friend to at least 1 person. Pick people with whom you feel you have something in common. Wow, that sounds like the same old methods of MLM. Are there better alternatives to the all the stress of building a home based business?

Do you live in interesting times? I doubt if the times could get more interesting than this with us being connected the way we are today. The fact is we live in a global economy. Due to the Internet, we can literally have a computer home based business anywhere in the world, as long as you have access to a phone and computer. Choosing between the good and bad companies can be a challenge. There are so many different types of Internet home based businesses which individuals can run from the comfort of their own home. The Internet is not only an entertainment or source of information but it is a source of business, namely e-commerce. In my opinion, it all starts with research and developing a business plan for your new venture. And the best thing about the Internet is that unlike a brick and mortar business, there are thousands of potential new people to drop by your business every day.

The unemployment rate has gotten pretty high, and companies are cutting back wherever they can nowadays. If you are worried about outsourcing of your job, you are not alone. A computer home based business is the perfect answer to outsourcing of jobs overseas and the effects of the economic disaster facing us. With gas on the rise people can’t afford to drive back and forth to worth. Many of us have family commitments that prevent us from working the long hours of a regular job. Child care is an expense that can make us worse off financially than if we stayed at home. Everyday, people all across the globe are looking for ways to start a home based business to make some extra money. Are you thinking about having a home based business opportunity? Do you even know what it takes to develop a successful business? Those are important questions you need to consider prior to starting any home based business opportunity. It all starts with having the proper mindset. Think about the statement for minute. Having the proper mindset, plus knowing what you need to do to develop a business are key ingredients to being successful. One way to organize yourself is develop and create a business plan to decide how you will build your home business with short and long term goals in mind.

Many home based business opportunities are connected to an Network Marketing company, or MLM. Once you agree to the terms of the company and sign on the dotted line, you become a distributor for the product or service. You are not an employee of the company and this is usually made quite clear. You have become the owner of your own home based business opportunity. Welcome to free enterprise. Now where should you really begin just prior to making that final step and actually signing up to be a distributor?

Have you every looked at an opportunity and before really analyzing the business and doing some research, you signed up because your friend is involved? Hey, I know I did it a couple of times. Although most of the MLM companies are certainly legitimate, I am sure you are aware that there are also many that are just crap companies. How do you actually evaluate a home business? What do you look for in a particular company in your efforts to start a home based business opportunity? There are a few things that you want to avoid and a few things that you should be looking for. Choose a company that has products you have an interest in. Dont get involved in something that you will not enjoy. You might as well keep your day job. There is no sense in starting an online business so you can work from home and hate it. For example, I prefer the health and wellness field only because of the number of baby boomers retiring on a daily basis and continuing for the next 15 plus years. Plus the fact, nutritional products are consumed every month, resulting in people ordering each month. Hence, you have residual income.

I have always maintained that it is better to go with established companies versus start ups. The reason is simple and straightforward. Choosing a company that has been around for a few years is less risky. Hey, if you are going to put your time and effort into a company, then at least you want to know its going to be around for the long term - right? Somewhere between three and five years is a good amount of time. Each day there are more and more companies being formed that are looking for those eager to work from home. The only problem with these new companies is that they have not yet been established and the Internet is a very competitive place. With so many choices, why would you chance it on a start up. Ya, I know you heard about the ground floor opportunity. But really, if the business is solid, waiting a couple of years, means it should be better in that time.

Getting back to starting off with a business plan. You need to put it on paper and decide how you will develop your Home Based Business. Consider both the short term and long term goals of what you want to accomplish. Typically, most businesses wont make money in MLM, but the few that do, takes anywhere from 3 to 5 years if you are serious about your home business. If you believe that you can make money out of the starting block, forget it. Look at your business as a long term investment. You can have both short and long term goals. Theres nothing wrong with that, but understand it usually takes years to accomplish success.

Have you even considered having a budget? Well, how do yo plan to pay for everything? You may have to do some advertising. That will cost money. To help with your business you may decide to purchase any one of the numerous marketing programs that are available on the Internet. That will cost money, usually in the form of a monthly fee. Give serious consideration to these types of programs and be sure you understand what you are buying. Some are just a waste of your money. Try to set up a budget for twelve months. Include all the expenditures that you can think of. I noticed many MLM companies have their own internal marketing programs as additional expenses.

In conclusion, I have outlined some simple and straight forward steps that you can do to ensure you have a fighting chance with your new home based business opportunity. It will not be easy and you will be working typically for a few years before seeing any significant gains. Sure you might make a few hundred extra dollars a month in the first year, but thats not really what you want out of it - is it? I am looking for a full time, walkway income from the Job. Have the proper mindset, write up a business plan that you can live with, research the company and then its time to take action. Success comes to those that are willing to work for it. There are no free rides.
